Williamson Tunnels Heritage Centre
Joseph Williamson Society manages this heritage centre now. You may help them with their work through donations as well. They also offer volunteer activities where visitors are permitted to help in the interpretation of labyrinth of tunnels that was constructed by Joseph Williamson in the year 1820s and 1830s. Volunteers can contribute to various activities such as historical research, tour guiding, foreign language translation and also front house duties. Background history of Williamson Tunnels Heritage Centre was not known clearly until recently when it was found by researchers that Joseph Williamson was born in Yorkshire. Interested persons may get membership to assist Joseph Williamson Society for the maintenance and development of the tunnel which is the only memorial depicting the life and works of Joseph Williamson.
