‘Positive Labels’ is the initiative offering young musicians free mentoring for a whole year. Young musicians or their band, get valuable access to a team of professional musicians, as part of a unique project in Tamworth, who will mentor them for a year.
It starts on 18th May (Mon) and 20th May (Wed), at Tamworth Assembly Rooms, Corporation Street, Staffordshire. The scheme is focused on budding musicians aged between 14 and 19 years, who get to meet the team to receive help and advice on musical options here. Youngsters who want to develop their skills, hone their abilities, learn all about the industry, all in a “real-world” environment, are welcomed.
‘Positive Labels’ is a joint initiative involving the ‘Make Some Noise’ music charity and the Arts & Events team of Tamworth Council. It’s part of the ‘I Am Tamworth’ 12-month celebration of the council and as the ‘I Am Music’ element of it. John Simmonds, Programme Development Manager of ‘Make Some Noise’, will lead the initiative. He said the initiative will help prepare young talents for the next stage of their musical journey. The free scheme has limited places and those interested can contact John Simmonds by phone-01785 278274, or email:-john@make-some-noise.com.
