Yeovil (south Somerset) will be hosting at the Reckleford Children’s Centre, a series of learning sessions and events for young parents. These events present an opportunity for young parents with young children or babies to socialise with other parents and also learn important parenting skills.

The first session at the centre will be held from 11am to 12.30pm, on 19th January, next year. They will have the chance to get more information on upcoming events and meet the team. On every Tuesday, regular sessions of Play and Learn will be held from 11am to 12:30pm. From 2:00pm to 3:00pm will be the Mellow Bumps session and it includes an ante-natal programme for 6 weeks, which will focus on bonding, relationships and relaxation. At the same time (2:00pm to 3:00pm ) another course alongside, will give young people the opportunity to learn new skills and gain qualifications. Midwives will run an ante-natal group in fun and interactive belly painting on Wednesdays, from 4 pm to 6 pm. The free sessions are open to any young parent who is up to 20 years of age. The event is being organised by Somerset County Council, partnering with Yeovil District Hospital midwives and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust’s Health Visitors.
