Mercia MS Therapy Centre will hold free taster session for all on September 13th 2012 (Thursday) between 4:30PM and 7:30PM. This programme will be conducted for people to understand about various therapies that are available for sports injuries, neurological conditions, inflammation and pain. Also details regarding autism and cerebral palsy problems that affect children the most can be learnt from here.

According to the manager, Zoe Seville – Edden, professional therapists here will help you to discuss your needs. Also, you can try their free taster sessions on different treatments such as massage, acupuncture, osteomyology, reflexology and hyperbaric oxygen. Free Sailing for You

If you like sailing and would love to have a go with it, then here’s your chance. Try sailing and that too for free! Get to the Commercial Wharf on the Barbican, on September 16, and you can get your free sailing session, without any pre-booking. All you do is just turn up there at 10 am, put on your buoyancy aid and grab the sails. You need not have any pre-experiences but have to be at least 8 years of age. You get one hour of sailing session which is provided by the RYA instructors there. Remember this free session is available up to September 15, Saturday. All equipment are provided, but there is no certification. Remember, the organisers have the right to end the session, if adverse wind or weather conditions should affect the session. The Mount Batten Watersports and Activities Centre is reputed centre. A prominent activity centre, it offers family fun days, multi-activity courses, RYA Instructor Courses and more.

 

Free renewable energy event to be held at Daventry

Residents and organisations can drop in for free to this event being held, later this month at Daventry, at the iCon Environmental Innovation Centre. This renewable energy event is to be held on September 25, Tuesday, from 4pm to 7pm. Get here at the event details about generating income by installing renewable energy technology  using the feed-in tariff scheme and the renewable heat incentive to one’s benefit. The Daventry Council’s Development control team will provide free planning advice in this regard. Here is an opportunity, if you visit the event, to get information and advice regarding renewable energy initiatives and installations, like about Solar PV, air-source heat-pumps, ground-source heat-pumps, solar water heaters and biomass boilers. So keep this energetically in mind and miss not the event.

 

MEND to give free health sessions for children

For all those children who are more than the healthy weight, here is a right chance for them to attend sessions that guide them to lead healthier lives. Interested families are welcome to join MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition… Do it!), which will conduct sessions for children aged 5 to 13years old. Ten sessions consisting of information, fun family activities and games will be conducted.

For children aged 5 to 7 years, the session will be held in two places for ten weeks excluding half term.

On Wednesdays (26th September 2012 to 5th December 2012) between 3.45PM -5.30PM Venue: Osterley Sports and Athletics Centre, 120 Wood Lane, Isleworth – TW7 5 FF.

And On Thursdays (27th September 2012 to 6th December 2012) between 3.45PM – 5.30PM Venue: Beavers Community Primary School. Arundel Road, Hounslow, Middlesex TW4 6 HR

Free Sewing Classes

If you are not sure how to sew a button, stitch on a badge or turn up a hem, then the first-step classes in a series of free sewing classes being organised by the Leicestershire Waste Partnership, will surely put you on the right stitch. The free classes can eventually help anyone interested in mending clothes and customising dresses or clothes to a good start in this interesting area. The advanced classes which will follow later, will give participants hands-on experience on a sewing machine, where they can learn different types of stitches and techniques, greatly enhancing their skills at sewing. The first-step classes are one-off the 3 hour sessions and will be held at-

  • Brocks Hill Environment Centre, Oadby on September 22 (Saturday), between 10am and 1pm.
  • Rawlins Community College, Quorn, on September 29 (Saturday), from 9.30am to 12.30am.

The advanced classes will be held at Rawlins Community College, Quorn, and will be between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on Saturdays September 29 and October 13.
