Top DJs at free Purple Party night in Preston

The Purple Party is a free party to celebrate Preston constantly securing the Purple Flag for a night out. Two well known DJs, MistaJam and Craig Charles, are to perform at this outdoor event, on 30th January. Free tickets numbering thousands will be made available for the event by the Preston Business Improvement District, which has lined up the free party, which will be in the form of a huge free gig on the Flag Market. Together with sound and lighting system, a FX show and live visual, the outdoor night-club will be created. The DJs will be playing their music from the top, at the balcony of Harris Museum and Art Gallery.

Mark Whittle, BID manager, said they have promised this to be the biggest free night-time party the city ever had since it was launched in late September. Tickets for the free event are being made available but are limited. So revellers better apply early. The are available at the Facebook page -PrestonAtNight and clicking on the tab- Free Tickets.

Spooky event at Gosvenor Museum

The Gosvenor’s Museum has a youth panel project for spooky events and is planned in the historic building for Halloween on 31st October. The free event will run from 6:30pm up to 8:30pm, which will turn the museum in Chester, into ‘haunted house’ for Halloween.

Spooky changes will see a swarm of spiders in the Victorian Parlour, the Stuart Dining Room with a creepy portrait and the Victorian Kitchen hiding a murderous maid. Visitors will be allowed on the event day to freely wander the ‘haunted house’, plus the Newstead gallery will have Halloween food and family friendly activities. Councillor Louise Gittins, who is cabinet member for culture, leisure and well being, said the event is a fantastic one set in a beautiful building over 100 years old and the rooms of Period House in the museum, which are set in different eras, was chosen by the Youth Panel. More details on the free event are available on the museum website- westcheshiremuseums.co.uk.
