Coventry to get free extended parking facility

No more parking tension this year too as Coventry city council has announced that free parking scheme will continue for this Christmas season. Parking facility will be given free of cost from 28th November to 19th December on Wednesdays after 4PM to help out late night shoppers. This offer will be available in all council car parks such as West Orchards, Barracks, Lower Precinct and Salt Lane.

The council will also be extending the £10 weekly ticket Monday to Friday that was introduced last year in order to tackle the situation relating to road works in the city centre upto the multi-storey in New Union Street. The Saturday shopper’s tariff that was brought in last year will be extended this year as well. This facility will allow people to park longer between 2 to 6 hours at various places such as Christchurch House Basement, Bishop Street, Cheylesmore, Manor House, Cox Street, Lower Ford Street and New Union Street car parks. Entry barriers and new pay machines will be given to 16 council car parks over the next month.
