Cassiobury Park free fireworks show soon at Watford
The annual fireworks display of Watford (Hertfordshire) is to take place on the 7th November. It will be held at Cassiobury Park on Saturday, providing great entertainment and live music. The free event will start at 6:00pm with a bonfire to be lit at 7:00pm and the fireworks display will start at 7:30pm. The display has been planned for 20 minutes. People who like to attend are requested to come 15 minutes before the start.
Dorothy Thornbill, the elected Mayor of Watford, said Watford is one of the few places hosting a free event with fireworks at night. The magnificent display put up by the council has become a meaningful community event which is supported by the Watford Lions, who also on the same night make a charity collection, she added. She requested people to give generously as this is particularly a free event.
Free cinema event kicks-off Edinburgh Film Fest
The Edinburgh International Film Festival will start with a free cinema event, on New Year’s Day in the Capitol. The free cinema event marks its 70th anniversary celebrations and as part of the annual Scot:Land festival. A number of mini-cinemas will be arranged at a mystery venue for an afternoon showcasing award-winning films.
Eleven ‘pop-up’ venues will be put up in undisclosed location over the Old Town, hosting a range of shows in visual art, dance, music and spoken word. In the previous three celebrations, the event had attracted around 8,000 revellers. A new version suitable for families and children of the Scot:Lands will be staged at the National Museum of Scotland. It will also host the ceilidh dance finale of the event. Free tickets are available for Scot:Land, that can be booked through the website- edinburghshogmanay.com. Director of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay festival, Peter Irvine, said Scot:Land works so well it brings in artists and culture from across Scotland to the city and also a mix of local audience and visitors.
