Celebrating free events for all, at Oxo Tower
A new exhibition titled- Free: Celebrating Free Events For All, will be held on 6th April, Wednesday, at the Bargehouse, as the venue, situated in Oxo Tower, South Bank, London. This interesting multimedia exhibition is being hosted by Eventbrite. The exhibition will highlight the role played by free events in offering access to cultural experiences to all, alongside that of giving a unifying-effect to small and large communities. Commemorating the history of free events, there will be 200 pieces of rarely seen posters, video, audio and photography. It includes iconic moments in national cultural life like David Bowie in Beckenham, Pink Floyd performance in Hyde Park, the Stones and other happenings.
Alice Milford Scott is a person who has been working for the past 20 year with community events. She has curated the exhibition which celebrates 50 years of free events. Featuring carnivals and fireworks to festivals, raves and street parties. The exhibition will run on Wednesday from 11:00am to 6:00pm and on Thursday until 8:30pm. Lincolnshire to host free event, SO Festival
East Lincolnshire is all set to host for the eighth year the SO Festival, in the coming month of June. The free event is to be run for nine days from the 25th June to 3rd July. The event will be packed with a range of new acts and also exciting outdoor acts. The host of innovative acts will tour 7 locations across East Lincolnshire and that includes Skegness, Woodhall Spa Spilsby, Horncastle, Mablethorpe, Alford and Louth. This year’s festival will be inspired by the beautiful, coastal, rural and agricultural landscape of the county, and be focusing on earth, air, fire and water, the 4 elements. The free event will have festival favourites like The Bullzini Family and the Travelling Light Circus participating. Director of the SO Festival, Lorna Fulton, said they had their biggest audience last year and hope to see more people visit to enjoy the festival.
