Free creative BBC workshop for young people in Frome
A creative workshop for young people will be hosted at the Black Swan Arts in Frome The event on 17th March, Saturday, is associated to the BBC initiative Get Creative and also the Black Swan Arts Open exhibition. This free workshop- ‘Idea, Matter, Form’, emphasises on the creative process. It offers an opportunity to explore concepts of materiality. Found and reclaimed materials combined with technology is experimented with sound and sculpture. A range of materials like found and reclaimed sculptural components, sequential mics and electronic instruments will be provided.
The half-day creative workshop is the 3rd in a series that gets young people aged 10+, engaged in creativity sponsored by Visual Arts South West. Alongside is an exhibition that annually showcases the inspiring work of young people. Another event too, a Drink & Draw evening, will be held at Black Swan Arts, during the Get Creative week, on 22nd March, from 7.30pm to 10pm. In a fun environment you sketch anything using your own supplies and socialise with a drink.
The creative workshop will be led by artist Fiona Campbell, with curator Aya Kobayashi and Stephen Ives of Eastville Project Space. This is a free workshop, but there is material cost per person at £6.50. It will be held the 1st floor of Black Swan Arts on 17 March, from 2.30pm to 5pm. Free tickets to meet Peter Rabbit on his visit to Cramlington
Peter Rabbit, a storybook favourite, is coming to Cramlington. The famous storybook character of Beatrix Potter, will be meeting youngsters over the Easter holidays at Cramlington, Northumberland.
As the film about Peter Rabbit hits the screens on 4th April at cinemas, the rabbit will be visiting the Centre Mall of Manor Walks here, to meet & greet shoppers. During story-time sessions, kids will get the chance to meet Peter Rabbit. The sessions outside Boots is led by a narrator and to be held at 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm & 3:30pm.
For over a 100 years children have been captivated by Beatirix Potter’s stories, with their beautiful illustrations. The most loved and popular Tales of Peter Rabbit, tells the story of a mischievous young rabbit and the trouble he gets into with Mr. McGregor in his vegetable garden. The GM at Manor Walks Shopping Centre, Bruno Copola, said they are excited to welcome Peter Rabbit during the Easter holidays and hoped families will spend time here, taking advantage of free parking, as there is something for everyone.
During the holidays, kids can become a detective to find eggs hidden, by joining a hunt across the shopping centre and the Westmorland Retail Park nearby. Lots of free activities for family and visitors are lined up, such as, face-painting, colouring, glitter tattoos, arts and crafts.
