Free event for fitness and sports at Southsea
The Southsea Fitness Festival is due to be held on 13th June, Saturday, which is really a free event, a giant sports day and includes demonstrations, master-classes, interactive events and workshops. Castle Field of Southsea will host pitches with pop-up shops, demonstrations and exhibitions, from a wide range of local as well as national companies. The time trials for the event will be held at the converted Avenue de Caen, hosting a 100m running track. A grand final after a day of time trials will also be held to find Portsmouth’s fastest citizens. A Healthy Eating Market will be put up in the area next to Skate Park, hosting pop-up food stores and healthy eating kitchens, all with an emphasis on eduction. The free event being organised, as a fitness and sport event, is by Luke Newton, Personal Trainer and Tina Edwards, events organiser. They see it as an ideal time for the whole family to try out something new, or for a great day by the sea, or a place for enthusiasts to meet like-minded persons. Over 100 free events at Liverpool LightNight festival
Liverpool has announced that its 6th annual LightNight festival will be hosted on 15th May, Friday. The festival will see over 100 free events taking place in Liverpool at 50 city centre locations. It’s a one-night event that opens the doors of hundreds of the city’s cultural venues till late into the night. This is one of the biggest cultural events in the city, with the LightNight festival attracting last year over 50,000 visitors. Visitors coming in can expect to see street performers, open studios, hands-on art workshops, live music, light projections, heritage tours and exhibition launches, including that of the 3rd International Photography Festival.
On 30th March (Monday), the full programme of events will be revealed for the Liverpool LightNight 2015. Director of the festival Charlotte Corrie, said the event is growing every year, with something for everyone. Event Manager of LightNight, Tracey Cosbie, said LightNight is unlike anything else in the city’ calendar. The free event never fails to delight, stimulate and surprise equally, she added.
Free ticket offered to visit Homebuilding & Renovating Show
