Free School at Heyford Park
Hurray! Good news for children and parents at Bicester, Brackley, Middle Barton and Deddington. A new free school will be set up at the former officers’ mess in Heyford Park. This school will have 840 pupils in total but will initially take only 120 pupils (60 seven grade students and 60 reception students) in September 2013.Then on wards classes will be expanded in the number of two with 30 pupils each every year until it reaches the total by the year 2019. Department for Education will directly fund this school. Teachers for this school will be recruited every year until the school becomes fully operational.
According to a trust of the school, the school has set up high academic goals but will look forward to the support of the local businessmen for the future of its pupils. Sarah McCready, the school co-ordinator has stated that parents were actually looking for such a school for a long time as their children have attended small rural primaries to secondary schools. Hence, they wanted a friendly school that reflected their community. Thanks to the Government for having approved this plan. Cheers!
