Lots of free events at The Newham Show
The 50th anniversary of the London Borough of Newham will be celebrated as a 1960s themed Mayor’s Newham Show, to be held on 11th and 12th July, at East Ham’s Central Park, from 12 noon to 6pm, both days.
Some of the fun things include live music and celebrity appearances, that families can enjoy at the borough’s biggest free event, running for 2 days. Over the weekend, Central Park in High Street will be transformed in preparation for the annual show and anniversary celebration. Dance and TV fans will see performances of the finalists from Britain’s Got Talent, who are Revelation Avenue and IMD Legion. Cheebies characters Cook & Line and Postman Pat, and also CBBC presentator Ben Shires, will entertain the younger guests.
Guests will be able to head back in time, as the borough’s 50th anniversary can help get the taste of the 60s through a photographic & moving image display, a vintage car display and a beehive hairdressing salon by Newham College students . There will also be cooking demos, children’s entertainment, arts and crafts stalls, a range of Best in Show competitions. Free session on photographic filters
Lee Filters in conjunction with Robert White will present a free event on photographic filters on 30th July, Thursday, at The Factory, in Alders Hills, Poole, Dorset, in the evening between 6:30Pm and 9:30PM. The free evening session will be a great opportunity for photographers and enthusiasts to learn about the use of a filter system in photography. They can get an understanding of the creative possibilities that filters offer and also the chance to get Lee Filters to introduce and demonstrate their range of products.
A presentation on an overview of the 4 filter systems and explaining their different uses, including the practicality of how filters work, will be done by Jon Cuff of the firm. Explained in depth will be filters such as ND standard, ND grads, Big and Little Stoppers and Polarizers, also using technical illustrations and before and after images. The experts will answer common questions like those of the use of multiple filters, hard vs soft grads filters and when to use a Little or Big Stopper. The free event has limited places, so those wishing to join the session are required to book their places.
Tividale Park Fun Day in Oldbury
A free event is being organised at the Tividale Park in Oldbury, Sandwell, West Midlands. The Tividale Park Fun Day, to be held on 18th July, is an open day which encourages families to attend and have fun. The free event is to run from 12 noon to 5:00pm and is filled with entertainment and activities. Some of the attractions there include a bouncy castle and even face-painting, to give a lot of fun for children. The event will also have music and numerous stalls and many other fun things. Free parking is being arranged for visitors to the venue, at the Gurudwara Guru Hargobind Ji on Britannia Street (B69 2 PG).
Lead councillor of Rowley Regis town council, councillor Kerrie Carmichael, said the free fun day offers entertainment for all, so people can come along and bring in all in the family, as there is something for everyone to enjoy in this free event.
