On 9 July (Sunday) as part of the Ledbury Poetry Festival, Dancefest’s performance groups for adults and youth dance companies will perform on Ledbury High Street.
Two performances, involving 300 students from over 20 schools and colleges, will take part too. One is on 13 July (Thursday) at Artrix, Bromsgrove. The other on 18 July (Tuesday) is Goldstar at Burford House, Garden Store and Gardens in Tenbury Wells. Two workshops included are – Watch Out Worcester, a performance project at Worcester Museum & Art Gallery, on 15 July (Saturday); and Moving Pictures, with film screening, lunch and dance workshops, at The Courtyard, on 19 July (Wednesday).
The final week has free events across Worcester city centre, with Watch Out Worcester on 22 July (Saturday). Get free tickets to Edinburgh’s Standard Life Opening Event: Bloom
The Edinburgh International Festival will open the 2017 summer festival by organising the Standard Life Opening Event, Bloom, which is a digital artwork, in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the festival and Edinburgh’s status as the Festival City. Free tickets are available from 3rd July, for the event that will run over two nights, on 4th (Friday) and 5th (Saturday) of August, from 10pm till midnight, at the St. Andrew Square.
The square will be transformed into a digital canvas, filled with animation, colour and texture, sounds and sensations. The video designs of this epic outdoor spectacle are by multi-award winning 59 Productions. The large-scale light projection will be accompanied by music that Nick Powell has composed. Bloom, the spectacular light-show, will take inspiration from the rich culture of Edinburgh, creating bright and bold animations that will take the audience into the darkness of post-war Edinburgh. The opening event is made possible by the support of partners across the public and private sectors.
To ensure entry to the event, booking of tickets is advised. A limited number of free tickets are available for both nights from the site – eif.co.uk. Ticket-holders can enter the arena from 9pm, for the 10pm start. Non-ticket holders can also come on the night, but entry will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
