Free Bike marking event by police
A free event in Taunton, at Fore Street, will be held by police, for free marking of bikes and providing information on what best locks available and also crime prevention tips to tackle bike theft. Cyclists here are welcome and can attend the free event on 11 January, from 10 am to 7 pm, at Fore Street.
Become a volunteer with free training session in Mablethorpe
Lincolnshire Health and Well-being Fund, Involving Lincs and Lincolnshire County Council will free training programme for all those who are already volunteers or who aspire to become volunteers. Two days training session will be held in Mablethorpe at The Coastal Centre in Victoria Road on 23 and 30 January from 9.30am-3.30pm. Free training will be held supported by Lincolnshire volunteer card scheme which provides training for recognised Lincolnshire volunteer.
This free event is open for all those who are aged 16 and above and no specific qualification is actually required. Training session will cover important areas such as customer care, equality and diversity, good practice standards, health and safety, team working, safeguarding and confidentiality. Those completing two sessions will be awarded a certificate and also a card. Interested persons can email: lvc@childrenslinks.org.uk or call 0845 373 0645.
Attend free dementia awareness sessions
Preston Council along with the Alzheimer’s Society will conduct free dementia awareness event on 30 January from 4pm to 5pm and from 6pm to 7pm. Cabinet Office and Department of Health has funded the campaign. The event will take place at Grimsargh Village Hall Car Park. 12 places are available for each session which has to be booked through Jackie Singleton by calling 01772 906453.
Dementia, a disease related to mental deterioration can affect anyone over the age of 65. And, hence people are requested to attend the free sessions to know better about the condition.
Free giant sport calendar from The Times
Here’s a limited offer, a free 2014 sports calendar from The Times newspaper. To get this giant calendar you should register for free with The Times, but available on a first come, first served basis. On offer are colourful 30,000 calendars. The free calendar shows fixtures of sporting events such as rugby, football, tennis, cricket and many more through 2014.
