Derby Cathedral Quarter hosts first Living Advent Calendar for Christmas

The first Living Advent Calendar event will be held in this festive month, with 24 free events to be held in Derby Cathedral Quarter, which is Derby city centre’s premier destination. Businesses in the area will be taking part in the event organised by Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District. Each day will hold a different activity or event, running up to Christmas Eve, which includes Christmas carols to wreath making workshops, from eyebrow shaping to gaming days. Visitors can learn to make Fondue at Milk and Honey, or get at Pizza Express, free snowball dough balls. They can join a family trail at the Silk Mill Museum, or join at Ye Old Dolphin for the pub quiz. Other activities include an open air mic night, a mini cocktail making class and a Star Wars demonstration.

Martin Langsdale, who chairs the Cathedral Quarter board and management group, said they were keen to coordinate a range of festive events that appeal to everybody and a fantastic experience to all visitors at this special time of the year. The Cathedral Quarter is already packed with a programme of entertainment and events throughout the festive season and the Living Advent Calendar joins the festivities with free events.
