Greenford’s new free school to be named
A free high school is all set to open in Oldfield Lane North at Greenford in a new building. It will be located on the former site of the Glaxo Smithkline sports-ground and to open in the September of 2013. Provisionally called North Easling Church of England Academy the school set up by the London Diocesan Board for Schools and Acton’s Twyford CE High School, it will house 1,200 school students from age 11 to 16 years. It will also have space for 250 pupils in sixth form along with a special centre for children with special needs. Residents are being asked to suggest the name and plan the future of this new free school being run independently from the local authority. Twyford’s head-teacher Alice Hudson will be overseeing the school.
