Beach volleyball finals offer free sessions, coaching and seats
The finals of the current British Beach Volleyball tour with Margate Masters will be this weekend. It will be held on Saturday and Sunday (16th & 17th August). The game’s action starts from 9AM to around 6PM on Saturday. Sunday will see the semi-finals for seniors start at 10AM, and the finals at around 2PM. Spectators can participate in free sessions at specific times to be held on the courts around the main arena. The Go-Spike courts will also host free coaching. Free entry for all of the family. Free grandstand seats will be given near the clock-tower, on the Margate Main Sands. There will be music and entertainment too, on both days and during prize giving.
Free festival of sport, free events being held at Alton town
Alton town’s Anstey Park will be hosting a free festival of sport on the 16th of August, 2014, between noon and 3 pm. Local sports clubs in Alton will be running free taster sessions in taekwondo, cycling, canoeing, golf, trampolining, tennis, hockey, football and more. There is also something for the crowds looking out for an afternoon of totally non-competitive activities, with workshops as well as demonstrations being conducted by Vanessa Golborn dance school and Results health club.
What’s more, this free festival also offers something for children in the form of activities such as bouncy castle, face painting and more. A free taster session is also being hosted by the Chawton Park Indoor bowling club located in the Chawton Park road. For those who want to organize summer sporting activities on their own, the Alton Town Council already has earmarked a 400 metres running track at the Alton Butts location along with a rounders pitch located at Anstey Park. All people in Alton town, young and old, are welcome to take part in this free sports festival!
Free music workshop by Strings Club
This year is the second anniversary of the Strings Club and to celebrate this, they are giving free workshops in music, to be held across The Midlands and London. Children are being invited to try their hand in music activities, by this award winning club. The free workshop will be held on 27 August, at Westminister Music Library, Victoria Library, London. Children between 4 and 12 years can try a variety of instruments like the violin, guitar and ukulele. Places are free but have to be booked in advance.
