Take free swimming sessions at Islington pool
As part of the Islington Council’s drive to encourage young people to take up an interested sport through the Olympics, the council is funding free swims in partnership with Aquaterra Leisure. These casual or fun swimming sessions are available up to 2 September, to all under-16s at Archway Leisure Centre, Cully Pool and Highbury Pool.
Islington executive members are happy to see so many young people at the swimming sessions, where more than 3,000 free visits have been reported since it started on 24 July. The young people have been further encouraged by the first-ever at the pool – a giant “Obliterator” inflatable.
Young people wanting a free swim have to register at one of the three pools in Islington. All those who have a Swim Card or Junior Izz Card already, are to bring it with them for every visit. Adults too can benefit by entering the prize draw by Aquaterra Leisure. They can win a year of free swimming lessons or 10 swimming memberships for young people for a year.
