Kids Week offers free tickets and activities for kids, over the month

The annual London theatre initiative, Kids Week, run by the Society of London Theatre, has begun this month, offering free tickets, on more than 35 shows, for children. The idea started in 1998 and this year it’s going to be the 20th Kids Week. It has reached more than 1.2 million children and families over the years.

Kids Week this year has issued nearly 160,000 tickets and more than 60,000 tickets are remaining to the performances, across the month. The initiative also offers a great range of free activities and events. In addition, Kids Week tickets holders can avail a number of Kids Go Free deals on hotels, dining and tours. Kids Week encourages young people with a chance to experience live theatre and as an audience development initiative is one of the longest running in the world.
The President of the Society of London Theatre, Kenny Wax, said theatres all over London are giving free tickets to children with full paying adults, during this month. He believes nothing can spark a child’s imagination more, than a magical live performance.
There are many varied productions, from comedies to thrillers and musicals to plays, over the summer holidays, with some 60,000 tickets still available, he added. Tickets for Kids Week are available along with a list of shows and information, at the website- kidsweek.co.uk.
