Free event re-enacting First World War in Warwick
The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Museum, which is at St. Johns in Warwick, is inviting the public to a special event to take place on 8th August (Saturday), which will take them back in history to the days of the first World War. The free event will run from 11:00am to 3:30pm. Visitors will be able to meet re-enactors of WW1, which include soldiers enacted by Birmingham Pals Living History Association. The group of enthusiasts dedicated to military and social history, aims to educate the people about different aspects of the Great War. Themed displays created by community groups belonging to West Midland area will be shown. It will be about stories of soldiers from places like Rugby, Berkswell and Sutton Coldfield. The date coincides with the 100th anniversary of the ofensive in Gallipoli by British troops. To get more details on the free event call to 412132. Free family celebration Seaton ParkFest in Aberdeen
Seaton ParkFest is returning to the Aberdeen park as a free event which aims to showcase the natural attractions of the popular park. The event is returning after more than a decade, for the first time, to also open the refurbished children’s play area, which is all being celebrated on12th September. It is also an opportunity for the Friends of Seaton Park, a voluntary group, to officially open the play equipment refurbished for £80,000. The organisers have described the ParkFest as the first event of its kind to be held in many years in the park as a part-gala, part-festival and part open day celebration. Friends of Seaton Park is organising the free event as part of a wide commitment to enhance the park, joining hands with the Aberdeen City Council’s environmental services.
Free event, Paws in the Park, at South Hill Park
South Hill Park in Bracknell will be hosting a free event for families with their pet dogs, called ‘Paws in the Park’, on 8th August, Saturday. The free event aims to help the public and regular users of the park by promoting responsible dog ownership and for benefit of dog walkers. The special day for dog owners will have competitions, demonstrations and advice of veterinarians at hand, from 11:00am to 4:00pm, on Saturday, at the Ringmead arts centre in Birch Hill. The families and their 4-legged friends can just turn up at the venue on the day, as the free event is not ticketed.
Executive member Iain McCracken, the councillor responsible for culture, corporate services & public protection of Bracknell Forest Council, said Paws in the Park is a great event for the whole family and has this year more stalls than ever. It is a way to thank responsible dog owners of the borough and encourage others to follow their example, he added.
