The Norwich Science festival is going on and over the 2 weeks, from 18 to 30 October, visitors can find here at The Forum, fascinating exhibitions, noisy theatrical shows, inspiring talks and hands-on family activities. Be a part of the city-wide celebrations and get amazed with the brightest minds pushing the boundaries of science. Many of the events at the Norwich Science Festival are free to attend, drop-in sessions, but there are ticketed lectures and talks (costing £4 to £15) too.
The visitors will get a chance at the festival to get up close to the replica of the original Large Hadon Collider at Cern, used in the search for the Higgs Boson, the ‘God Particle”. An innovative family show- The Experimentrics, by Science Made Simple, a Welsh company that mixes live science demos with theatrical performance, can be enjoyed. Prof. Robert Winston will be talking on the question of how far should genetics research be pushed. Mark Thompson, an astronomer, will fascinate an audience, showing the magical properties of matter.
Chief executive of The Forum, Tim Bishop, said they were excited about the variety and quality of events put together, its fantastic range and depth, in this city renowned for life-changing and ground-breaking scientific research.
