Santa’s Grotto at the intu Metrocentre in Gateshead is a favourite, attracting hundreds of children every year. Santa’s Grotto is coming back this year too and intu Metrocentre joins hands with Playmobil, the preschool toy manufacturer, for the second year running. They have created for the children of the North East a unique and free Christmas Grotto experience.
Children will meet not only Santa, but also some larger than life Playmobil figures here, running from 11 November (Saturday) to Christmas Eve on 24th December. The Grotto is placed beneath the giant Christmas tree at the centre, in the lower Qube at the Gateshead shopping mall. This is one of the 8 being launched by the partnership across intu shopping centres in UK.
Children visiting the free Grotto will get a free Playmobil gift, if over the age of 18 months and younger visitors will get a cute animal toy. Children with hearing impairment will get some very special signing sessions at the Grotto on 3, 10 and 17 December, from 10am-11am. Each visit of 5 minutes must be booked in advance.
To make the free entry to Santa’s Grotto, the Opening Times are revealed too. It will be open from 11th November to 24th December. From Monday to Friday, it is open from 10am to 8pm. On Saturday it is 9am to 7pm and Sunday it is 11asm to 7pm. On Christmas Eve it closes at 4pm.
