The Virgin Kitesurfing Armada Festival is UK’s biggest kite-surfing event and will be held from 17h to19th June, in the coming weekend. The event will see an attempt at a Guinness World Record title, music, family-friendly activities on-shore, with great kitesurfing. It will also have fund raising for local youth and rescue charities, plus local school children get a chance to experience the sport.
The fourth Virgin Kitesurfing Armada Festival opens at 11am on 17th June (Friday). Year 6 and 7 children from the local schools, numbering some 250, will hear Lewis Crathen, pro-kitesurfer. He’ll talk on Kitesurfing, general fitness and wind energy. Kitesurfing taster sessions will be offered on Sunday (19th June) to school children and families free of charge.
Over the weekend the kitesurfing festival in Hampshire will feature the best brands in kitesurfing exhibiting latest equipment and also talks by pro-kiters and industry experts. On shore there will be lots if entertainment with food stalls, DJs and music, a chill-out zone and a jumbo screen. The Volvo Family Zone will have family-friendly activities. Entry is free to on-shore activities. The 3 days will have recreational kiting, air competitions with foiling clinics and a challenge. People of all ages will be at kitesurfing and there are free taster sessions for beginners. The whole festival is practically a free event for all to enjoy.
