Derby and Derbyshire patients can now benefit from free dental voucher offer. Not everyone can make use of these vouchers, but those patients who have failed to visit a dentist in the past two years for a certain time. The free vouchers are worth up to £17. NHS Derby City and NHS Derbyshire County has been awarded by the Department of Health £180,000 to launch the new scheme. These free vouchers can be used by the patients during their dental check-ups.
This scheme encourages people to be more dental health conscious. They are asked to visit the dentists regularly. Early detection of damages can be treated and cured. Head of primary care for NHS Derbyshire County, Keith Mann said that launch of new dental surgeries will promote better dental health in Derby. Over £3 million has been invested in the new services by the county. Dental help lines will give advices and support to patients in Derby City and Derbyshire.
