Today Orange announced that, TVcheck, their latest social TV app, could be downloaded from the App Store for iPhones. The application is Free, simple and is available on all networks. It would improve the live TV watching experience with gaming and social networks. The TVcheck is working with a number of free-air-channels across the UK together with ITV, BBC, Channel IV and V. The app allows the users to use their phone’s camera to recognize their programme and check in without delay. Customers can check in to their favourite programmes and to create fun they can connect with friends.
Live TV image recognition technology is one of the main features of TVcheck. While any programme on an attuned channel is going on, all you need to do is aim your phone at the TV screen. The application will quickly recognize the TV programme and will register it. Once you check in to a TV show, then you can utilize the other features of the app. You are allowed to take part in online quizzes, confront other viewers and become the chief of the programme and you can also earn badges. The app’s provision for social media website connection is seamless. Customers can use social media websites like Twitter and Facebook to send messages and chat as you watch TV. It is believed that access to unseen recording from your preferred shows will also be provided to customers soon.
In the future, the app will be available in other apps stores, together with Android Market Place following the example of the successful release of apps in France during the previous year. In France, Orange has partnered with leading channels like NTI, Direct Star and Channel NRJ12 in order to provide high-class experiences basing on the TV content to the users of TVcheck.
