The annual hot air balloon festival is returning to Bristol very soon. The free event, the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, will take place from 11th to 14th August, at Ashton Court. This year will see over 150 hot air balloons take to the skies above Bristol, in the early dawn and at dusk, as a spectacular flotilla take-off show, subject to weather conditions.
Over the course of the 4 days, nearly half a million visitors are expected to attend the festival, which is considered to be one of the largest in Europe, at the large country estate of Ashton Court. Another highlight of the fiesta is the balloons lighting up to music for the evening balloon night glow events. There will also be fantastic fireworks displays over the days.
With such a huge crowd of visitors expected to arrive over the days (Thursday to Sunday), those who wish to attend the free event are advised to make their plans in advance, to their advantage.
