Team cycling race of Royal Bank of Canada series at Canary Wharf

September 3rd, 2016 by Sandy

The Royal Bank of Canada V Series will bring back team cycling race to the streets of Canary Wharf for a second time, on 15th September (Thursday). The free-to-watch event will start at 6pm bringing 20 corporate teams to race each other and the clock, on a closed road circuit 1 km long, being held again in this major business district of East London. Last year the event witnessed RBC’s team ‘Royal Bikers of Canada’ race to win, pitted against teams in the likes of Sky, JP Morgan and Thomson Reuters.

The unique cycling challenge for inter-company teams is based on Team Pursuit format, with teams made up of 8 riders. Eight riders will race over 4 km with the lead rider pulling off every 500 metres, to leave the final riders to cycle the final 2 km. Two teams will compete, with the four fastest teams qualifying for the final race. The winning team takes the glory in this free event to watch.
