Sussex Day hosts free and cultural events in Eastbourne area

Sussex Day in the Eastbourne area will host free events, including cultural and heritage attractions joining in, on 16th June, Tuesday. Visitors can enjoy a day of free festivities at the Redoubt Fortress and the Pavilion. There will be free entry to Napoleonic Redoubt Fortress. Visitors can handle objects on display too, at the military museum. A free Carry on Curator talk will given at 2:00PM. Damian Etherington, the museum curator, will focus on the two hundredth Battle of Waterloo anniversary. Margaret Bannister, who is lead cabinet member for culture tourism and enterprise, at the Eastbourne Borough Council, said the day celebrates Eastbourne being a key destination in the county’s rich history, culture and heritage. Among the free events, included is a free guided tour given of the Fortress grounds.
