The Stevenage Festival for 2017 has a packed programme of events lined-up this summer, running from 14th to 24th June. The festival starts off with Stevenage Fringe, which will hold around town a wide range of arts events up to 22nd June. Highlights of Fringe include Stevenage Day’s Rock in the Park, Stevenage Male Voice Choir and Stevenage Ladies Choir performing at St. Nicholas Church from Saturday.
There will be a major display on 8th June, at High Street Methodist Church, by Stevenage Floral Arts Group. On 16th and 17th June, the Lytton Youth group will present a dark comedy called Apocalypse Cow. The bi-annual event is a free event offering a variety of acts on stage and it takes place at Gordon Craig Theatre in Lytton Way, at Stevenage town.
The wind bands of Stevenage, Letchworth, Hitcfhin and Baldock will join as the Herefordshire Music Service, to perform popular tunes from film and of music on an unforgettable Wednesday eventing (21 June). A series of community concerts, including ones by primary and secondary school students, will be held from 14th to 24th June. On 24th June a variety finale concert will be held. Stevenage Day falls on 11th June, a Sunday.
Now in its 58th year, this festival is bigger and better than before and attracted over 25,000 visitors last year. This is one of the largest free events of its kind in Herefordshire. This year it will focus on the Rock in the Park and the performance area. There will be over 200 stalls by local businesses, voluntary organisations and charities, with a new food court area providing wide variety of specialist food by vendors.
