Anti-Theft Number PlatesAll vehicle owners in St. Albans can have free anti-theft number plates fitted on to their vehicles totally free of cost.

The Constabulary in Hertfordshire is offering to provide StopLock screws on vehicles and this would ensure that the number plates cannot be removed easily.

A garage in Hatfield Road known by the name of St. Albans Recovery is the firm that is providing the facilities for the StopLock screws to be fitted on to the number plates free. This initiative would be carried out from the 23rd of July to the 4th of August.

A member of the Crime Detection Unit, Detective Inspector Paul Doran stated that the StopLock plate screws were an excellent measure to ensure that the registration plates of vehicles were safe and secure.

He remarked that burglars had been known to take away number plates so that they could be fixed on to some other automobile that they would be utilizing for some crimes.

He also added that he was grateful to St. Albans Recovery for enabling the Crime Reduction Unit to provide this fantastic offer and would instigate drivers to make the best of this chance to safeguard their vehicles.

Vehicle owners who were keen on getting the locks fixed on their automobiles should call 01727 834840 to fix up an appointment. More details can be had from www.herts.police.uk.
