Southport to host SonFest Christian Music Festival again

July 23rd, 2016 by Sandy

Southport will be hosting, for the third year, the SonFest Christian Music Festival again, in a brand new location this year, on 3rd September. SonFest will be held in the newly refurbished King’s Garden, along the Promenade. Once again, this year the free event will provide free live music for the entire day, carrying positive messages and encouragement for all ages. In addition, there will be line-up of free activities for children, including edible crafts and unlimited access to a huge inflatable slide.

Three years ago, SonFest was created as a free event, suitable for all ages to share a message of hope through positive and encouraging live music. The director of the event and founder, Tina Powsey, said that live music offers an opportunity to hear messages in an engaging and new way. She added that she believed words change lives, especially words of hope, love, grace and forgiveness and hoped that people who stop by will leave feeling better.

The free event, a festival of music, will start off at 11am. Headlining the festivities will be award winning singer-songwriter of Britain, Philippa Hanna. Also Mike Weaver, of Big Daddy Weave band, the contemporary Christian music band of the US, will be performing for the first time ever in England here.
