Sheffield United has announced that it is extending its support for the charity, Tickets for Troops during the upcoming 2014-15 campaign. The Armed forces are given free tickets for theatrical, musical and sporting events. During the last season alone, football league clubs issued more than 21,000 tickets towards this cause. All Armed Forces members as well as medically discharged members from services right from 2001 are eligible for this.

Lord Marland, Chairman of Tickets for Troops, while lauding the efforts of the armed forces, appreciated the fantastic work done by Sheffield Shield for demonstrating their support and generosity towards such a noble cause. Additionally, Armed Forces members who are supporting the Blades will also be given free tickets from the available lot during August, when the 2014-15 season kicks off, along with the current free tickets for troops.
