Sevenoaks Free Trees Plant ProgrammeFree trees are available to be planted to improve the environment to Sevenoaks residents. North West Partnership’s ‘Tree to Treasure’ project has 15,000 free trees up for anybody willing to plant. This is part of the bigger programme to plant one million trees across England by 2015, called ‘Big Tree Plant’. In all, 14 different species of trees are available. Five different packs of woodland, forager, wildlife, hedges or school packs are available for organisations or communities willing to encourage the planting habit. They could think creatively and encourage initiatives like community planting.

The Sevenoaks District Council jointly funds this programme along with other boroughs and district councils across North West Kent. The Council Cabinet member Avril Hunter, felt this ambitious project would have a highly positive impact on public places. Applications for the first round concludes on 31st October.
