Road safety event at Silvestone circuit, south Northamptonshire

A major free event is being organised to boost road safety standards in Northamptonshire. The ‘Get Road Smart@Siverstone’ is an event designed by experts to increase road safety awareness and carry the work already done to make the roads of the county among the safest in UK, further ahead.

Experts from the county’s highways department, the fire service and the Northamptonshire Police have all teamed up for the free event . The event attractions offer- drivers and riders get advice on their driving skills, police pursuit demonstrations, fire brigade rescue demonstrations and a competition to win a ride in a converted formula-1 style car. Plus bicycle-powered Scalextric track, face painting and bicycles designed for toddlers. ‘Get Road Smart @ Silverstone’ is part of the Operation Journey, a Northamptonshire Police campaign. The event will be free to everyone to enter the British Grand Prix track, the Silverstone circuit. The event is being organised here on 18 May, Sunday, from 10:30AM up to 4:00PM.
