The Race Week Festival is being organised by Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council, which will run from 7th May to 13th May, with a line-up of free activities taking place all over the area. The family-oriented programme for the festival is in support of the Vauxhall International NW 200 to be held soon. A time-honoured tradition of the festival is The Family Motor Fest at East Strand Portrush, on 10th May (Wednesday). The Inch Perfect Trials Show will debut with freestyle tricks and huge jumps.
Stannage International Stunt Show with amazing stunts and with Vertical Trix Motorsport Stunt Display Team will be showing their acts, involving bikes, cars, burn-outs and wheelies. The show sponsored by Nutt Travel Coeraine, will have a kids’ mini motor-racing and food-stalls alongside. Entertainment will start at 6:30pm and end at 8pm. Colerain Town Centre will hold ‘Meet the Riders’ on 12th May (Friday) that will host a chat show by Adrian Logan, with the chance for fans to get autographs and photographed with top racers during the free event. More activities and entertainment will continue throughout the week. Mayor Alderman Maura Hickety encouraged everyone to take part and enjoy the atmosphere created by the NW 200, that had attracted around 100,000 visitors, fans and spectators earlier.
