Plans to open free schools for youngsters with difficulties

Free School for YoungstersProposals to start an alternative free school for students with behavioural, social and emotional difficulties are supported by the Central Bedfordshire Council. Members of the council have offered their support for the new school that will accommodate 140 youngsters. The alternative provision for the free school will be partly based at the earlier Roecroft Lower site at Stotfold. Second school building would be located in Dunstable.

Students who need individual care and support will benefit from this new school. This initiative hopes to improve the outcome from the students with difficulties.

Department for Education has submitted the plans and were developed by group of 10 upper schools in Central Beds. Middle schools and Central Beds Council representatives are offering their support for the new plans. In addition to offering the two buildings, the council has offered good funding to support the plan. Executive member for children’s services at Central Beds Council, Councillor Mark Versallion is positive about the bid and hopes it would be a success. This proposal will offer improved educational opportunities for the pupils in Central Bedfordshire. By offering the necessary funding and assistance, the council proves its commitment.

Youngsters with difficulties needs special attention and such initiatives will prove very helpful.
