The St. Andrews Sub Aqua Club will be hosting a 24-hour marathon dive to raise money for charity Cancer Research, on 24th and 25th April, at East Sands Leisure Centre on St.Mary Street in St. Andrews. The event is open to the public.
During the event a diver will be under water always and some members will be under water for a total of 12 hours. People are free to come in and check it out and support the cause. St Andrews Sub Aqua Club (SAUSAC) is also holding on the Sunday, try dives for people to get an opportunity to learn what it feels to be breathing underwater.
The try dive will cost £20 and it will go to the charity. The taster session will last one hour and those who like to try diving can email to the club (subaqua@saints-sport.ac.uk). Those who cannot make it here can still donate to the cause (at https://www.justgiving.com/KeirMacartney). Cancer has affected the lives of thousands of people in the UK and many people are diagnosed with the illness every day. However, continued research into treatment and hopefully a cure, will improve the lives of those affected. Therefore support from people is expected during this free event.
