The Open House London 2014, is a programme that features a series of free events announced by Open City, an independent architecture education organisation which is London based. The programme is to be held on 20th and 21st of September, organised to give members of the public the free opportunity to explore the venues in the capital of London. It will feature a series of free events that includes cycle rides, engineering/landscape tours, walks and expert talks.
Open House London has teamed up with the network of Maggie’s Cancer Centre to host, for the 10th year, the Maggie’s Cultural Crawl. The organisation has a collaboration with Institution of Civil Engineers. Activities for children and families come under the Open House Junior programme, which includes, as part of Archibus tour organised by Arriva and The London Transport Museum, architectural model-making and quiz trails. This year’s programme features 800 properties across London, including 10 Downing Street, 30 St. Mary Axe, Leadenhall Building and others. The founder director of Open-City, Victoria Thronton, said that Open House is a vibrant, unique annual event which offers people the chance to explore and learn about London’s great architecture.
