Open Days is chance to explore heritage of Bath for free

September 7th, 2014 by Sandy

Bath and North East Somerset Council will be giving both visitors and residents the wonderful chance to explore the heritage of the city. The council’s Heritage Services will for four days in September, as every year, give the opportunity to people to discover places and sites of national historic importance and of contemporary style. The opportunity of open days comes between 11th and 14th September of this year. Benefit from this chance to join a range of activities and tours that brings out local history and culture.

The Cabinet Member for Sustainable Development of the council, Councillor Ben Stevens, said the Heritage Open Days is the largest voluntary cultural event and an opportunity to discover the hidden treasures normally never seen by the public, that attracts more than a million visitors here. Bath will this year bring fifteen different venues to discover. The Kier Recycling-Depot which is in Keynsham, will be offering for the first time a behind the scene visit to watch what’s happening during recycling. The council’s Heritage Services has also organised special tunnel tours to the Roman Baths, in this year’s open day. Don’t miss the free events and visits free of charge. Book in advance as the guided tours are limited. Contact Council Connect on phone – 01225 394041. Get more details from a downloadable leaflet or go the website- bathnes.gov.uk/heritage events.
