March 19th, 2015 by Sandy

The Wellcome Collection and University College London (UCL) will be hosting a programme this May called ‘On Light’. The programme hosts an extended weekend of free events and activity to celebrate the International Year of Light and Light Based Technologies. Starting from 1st May up to 4th May, there will be 4 days of discussions, activities, performances and art. The event will be hosted at the Wellcome collection, London and will highlight the human relationship we have with light. The events would bring under one roof more than 60 contributors to explore the implications of light in human life and its influence on our happiness and health.

The 1st May (Friday) will mark the beginning where visitors can find performances and installations of renown artists or even listen to Andrew Pontzen, the cosmologist, on a talk. On 2nd May (Saturday) the Institute of Making will have a show on materials we use to manipulate and make light. UCL researchers will host activities on Malet Place. There will be free ticketed and drop-in events throughout the days of Saturday, Sunday and Monday. All are free events at the ‘On Light’ programme running from 1st to 4th May. For obtaining tickets and getting more details, please visit the website of Wellcome Collection.
