Nottingham celebrates summer with range of events

Nottingham will be celebrating summer over the next few months with a whole range of events. There will be something for everyone, in what is set to be the biggest celebration yet for Nottingham over the coming few months.

There is no shortage of events for families, with young children on holiday between 27 July and 30 August. Some are the School’s Out scheme free events around the city in parks and at New Art Exchange. Before breaking up for the summer, primary schoolchildren will get a free summer events booklet at school as a promotion.

Dinosaurs of China Exhibition and British Triathlon Mixed Relay Cup, to be broadcast live by BBC, are major events scheduled. Popular free family events alongside are The Beach and Riverside Festival, plus smaller community events in the neighbourhoods, across the city.

Nottingham residents can avail a travel offer, a discounted Metro ticket- £1 off on an all-day ticket for visits, like that to the Derby CAMRA Summer Beer Festival in Derby. Nottingham is likely to celebrate the award winning of city parks, in consideration for 35 Green Flag awards, after 19 July.

Councillor and Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, Dave Timble, said there were so proud of their city and the fantastic events are one of the best things about it. From festivals to sporting events, to the exclusive Dinosaur of China exhibition, and events in the local neighbourhoods, there’s a lot going on , he said. He urged all to get out there with family , friends and neighbours to be part of the summer free events in Nottingham.
