Visitors will have a great time this weekend when they are at Newham’s Waterfront Festival, at the Royal Docks. 20 & 21 September will bring you fireworks, live music and water sports. People can take to the water using a rowing boat. They can try a hand at paddle boarding or try wakeboarding. There are events on dry land too for those who prefer that. They can try their hand at building a coral reef using recycled materials, or pan for gold. They can take up Zumba or salsa dance classes on the beach. They can even try tying knots here. The two-day free summer events programme will also feature music from the 70s UK soul sensation- The Real Thing. You can step on-board SS Robin, the steamship. You can learn about the history of the docks.

Sir Robin Wales, Mayor of Newham, said residents get a fantastic opportunity to enjoy very different activities during the Waterfront Festival, in the historic Royal Docks. The festival showcases Newham and all exciting things on offer and concludes the free summer events programme, he added.
