One of the newest public squares in Manchester, the Sadler’s Yard, will be hosting a free summer festival- The Sadler’s Yard Sumner Jam, on 5th August (Saturday), featuring some of the best local beers, street food and live music. The activities taking place, will be across 4 stages. and, the square nestled in a nook behind the New Century Tower and the CIS Tower, is at the core of the NOMA development of the Co-operative (worth £800 million).
The day will have a line-up covering everything from spoken word to surf rock, with a range of home grown acts from across the north-west. Artists to perform on the day, include Jack Conman, Jess Kemp, Jennifer Reid, Claire Victoria and also Mancunian poet Tony Walsh, who will be on the main stage. Street-food traders include Big Grillie Style and Que Delicia, and also The Plicrow seasonal beer.
The event and stakeholder manager at NOMA, Alison Power, said they were surprised with the reaction to Sadler’s Yard Summer Jam 2016 and this year look to build on that with more entertainment, with their own brand of special activities, along with a wide range of stages and acts right in the heart of the city. The first 200 people entering the gate will get a free sample of Duerrs Jam. The Festival is a free event to attend and runs from 12 noon to 11pm. However, the free tickets have to be booked in advance, at the Eventbrite website.
