The annual Open Day event of the Merseyside Transport Trust (MTT) will be held on 10th July, Sunday, in Burscough, West Lancashire, to attract new members, sponsorship, volunteers and create interest within the public. The Open Day provides a unique and rare chance to see numerous vehicles, including its fleet of more than 50 historic vehicles and a train, in various states of restoration being exhibited. On display will be visiting vehicles from other preservation groups too.
MTT is keen on active involvement of people and the expansion of the associated skills base. Funds for the upkeep of its fleet will be raised here. There will be sales and talks about latest projects of the group. Bus rides will be offered to surrounding areas, several scenic villages, serving local pubs and supporting local businesses. Volunteers run the MTT and the Annual Open Day, with all proceeds going to the charity. There will be free entry and light refreshments available for visitors to the MTT base off Tolgate Raod.
