More free events expected on return of Big WordFest to Watford

February 18th, 2018 by Sandy

Watford Borough Council will be launching their Big Wordfest celebration on 3rd March, 2019, from 12pm to 3pm, a Saturday, at the Watford Museum. Expect more of the same events seen last year again this time, with a variety of genres, comedy, theatre, author talks, writing workshops and more, lined up for both children and young people, as well as adults.

There’ll be craft activities, face-painting and tasty treats form Little Gallery Tea Room, which will run between 10:30 pm and 4pm. Meet here Alice in Wonderland and her chums, the White Rabbit, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, Queen of Hearts and Caterpillar, who will entertain visitors at the Watford Central Library, before visiting the museum.

Cabinet member for community, Councillor Karen Collett, invited everyone to the fabulous free event, asking visitors to dress up as their favourite literary character, or in plain clothes, for a good time and to win prizes. Big Wordfest is now in its 3rd year celebrating everything word-related, with adventure and travel as the theme this year. All through March and April, free and low-cost activities will be run for all and will be listed on the website – watfordbigevents.co.uk.
