Meet Dippy at Birmingham Museum

In this summer, you can visit with your kids for a free meeting with Dippy, the Diplodocus dinosaur which comes from London’s The Natural History Museum. The dippy is on a road tour and it has now come to Birmingham Museum on May 26, 2018. So please do not miss out a chance to visit our Dippy which will be here at Birmingham at Chamberlain Square, Birmingham B3 3DH, UK until September 9, 2018.

Dippy has come to London in 1905 and now it is on a trip around the country. The Natural History Museum along with the Garfield Weston Foundation has organised for UK wide tour of historic adventures with other partners with the motto of meeting Dippy in person by 1.5 million people. The full skeleton displayed pose of Dippy has the length of 21.3 metres, width of 4.3 metres and 4.25 metres high. All types of dinosaurs were not extincted before 65 million years ago. One of the animals’ group evolved into the birds which are present now. In this exhibition, you can also see and know about the fantastic birds and its features first appeared in dinosaurs.

There will also be a part of the exhibition where you can see the diversity of modern birds which evolved into one of the animals group inhabiting every part of the world from Antarctica to rainforests.

The event “Dippy on Tour” is a free but ticketed one. So please book your time slot to meet marvellous dippy. The time you can visit the museum is between 10 am to 5 pm on all days of the week except on Friday between 10.30 am to 5 pm.
