Love Loughborough will kick off its Winter Festival Fayre at 10am, on 10th December (Sunday). The new Christmas event will roll out a range of activities and entertainment, to attract footfall into the Loughborough town centre for the festive period.
The free event will start off at 10am and also gives a chance to sing-along with fairytale themed princesses. Princess Pals will be around, before getting back to her live performance at 2:30pm, for your photo opportunities, during lunchtime. Expect some surprise visits from tall magical angels and the cast of the Robin Hood panto. From 11am to noon, there will be an Open Mic Session, offering a 10-minute slot on the stage, to anyone willing to sing or play music.
Santa will be there gift-wrapping for you, helped by Love Loughborough elves. The elf team is sponsored by M&S, offering free gift-wrapping for any gift you bring. Enjoy a complimentary drink, courtesy of the on-site coffee van of Rose & Crown. At 1pm, a full hour slot will be for Charlie Russell and his live acoustic session.
The main event will see the visit of Father Christmas, on his trusted reindeer sledge, arriving with his Fairy Godmother, offering you photo opportunities. A 24-metre marquee will host handcrafted gifts and stocking filler sales. There’ll be quality local produce sold at some festive stalls. There’ll be a Birds of Prey display, children’s rides and dancing by Bare Bones Morris. Charnwood Borough Council will also offer free car parking, at council car parks, all day (except in Brown Lane). The Love Loughborough Winter Festive Fayre is a new free event that aims to support local businesses, promote local shops and create a vibrant town centre.
