March 16th, 2018 by Sandy

The Isle of Wight Children’s Festival is coming to Newport, at the Quay Arts Centre. Besides magical performances from Yetis and Moomins, there’ll be lots of free sessions and workshops for children to enjoy. The first festival will run for 3 days on the 12th, 13th and 14th of April, in time for the Easter holidays. Creators of the Ventor Fringe and the team behind the Ventor Exchange, will be joining hands with the Quay, to transform the centre into an exciting hub of activity and fun. It would be an unique experience for families and kids, with magical experiences, fantastic workshops, mad games, spell-binding performances and storytelling.

The Lost & Found collective from Brighton will bring to life on stage the lovable characters from ‘The Moomins’. There’s also a beautiful show, the magical story of ‘Yana and the Yeti’ , performed by Pickled Image, the puppeteers from Bristol. There’ll also be comic strip, puppet-making and fashion workshops, with storytelling, other free sessions and fun activities lined up. The events have been listed (http://events.onthewight.com/festivals/isle-of-wight-childrens-festival-2018) and bookings can be made. Quay Arts Cafe will be serving throughout the festival days, tasty food with refreshments.
