As part of the Lincolnshire Wolds Festival of Archaeology, free activities and events are being planned up to 23rd July. Four events are to be held in the Area of Outstanding Beauty, The event is an imitative of Down Your Wold, the community heritage project. The festival launched off with Dr. Kevin Leahy, the eminent archaeologist, at the Franklin Hall, Spilsby, discussing the prehistoric period of the area, which includes neolithic burial grounds and finds from the Bronze and Iron ages. On 16th July the festival ends with a 6-mile walk, starting in the morning at 9:00am, to take the group on a journey across Bishopthorpe, taking them over military structures, a chalk stream and into a medieval village.
