The Lichfield Festival will be returning, to be hosted at venues across Lichfield, the Staffordshire city, from 3rd to 12th July. Considered as one of UK’s most eclectic multi-arts festivals, it has over 70 different events, spread in about 10 days, attracting world-class international and national performers. The Staffordshire city will also have lots of free events and activities apt for the whole family.
Events include from City Saturday ‘open house’ to the cathedral lawn hosted Vintage Tea Party and a Twycross Zoo supported baby elephant parade. The Lichfield festival will offer something for all ages and tastes, plus free events. A special adaptation by Anthony Krane of Mozart’s famous ‘The Magic Flute’ will open the festival on 3rd July, Friday. David Mathews is the composer in residence.
Find here literature, comedy, theatre, dance, orchestral music, jazz, visual effects, etc. Some other offerings include- chamber music concerts by the Sacconi Quartet (this year’s artists in residence), stand-up from comedians Mark Watson and Marcus Brigstocke and talks from Bill Oddie, Philip Walling and Wedy Cope, all acclaimed authors.
